Stir Fried Pork and Beancurd in Oyster sauce
I saw this small recipe of an oyster sauce in the supermarket. I thought I can cook this. Though the taste is good or not is subjective.

So I tried to see if can cook it. Here’s what I got.

What you need:

1/2 kg. pork liempo, cubed
1 tsp. chopped garlic
1 small onion, sliced
4 pcs. tokwa, fried and cubed
1/4 – 1/2 cup chopped kinchay
2 pcs. red bell pepper, sliced
1 cup water
1/2 cup Oyster Sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Stir Fried Pork and Beancurd in Oyster sauce

How to make it:

Put liempo on a non stick pan. Season with salt and pepper. Cook pork until fat has been extracted and pork is golden brown in color. Remove excess fat from the pan, leaving only around 2 tbsp. Push pork in one side of the pan and saute garlic and onion until limp. Add 1/4 – 1/2 cup of kinchay depending on your taste preference. Stir in prepared tokwa and sliced bell pepper. Cook while stirring for another 2 minutes. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Season with oyster sauce to taste.

The kids enjoyed it. But I think they just being nice. Enjoy.

Trivia:
Bean curd is another name for tofu, a product made from soybeans. Tofu is the Japanese name for soybean curd. It has a high protein content and is rich in iron, calcium and B vitamins. Tofu is available in various forms. Silken bean curd is the softest and is best for mashing, blending for dips, dressings and sauces. Bean curd is a great low-calorie replacement for meat in stir-fries, stews and casseroles. Bean curd has no flavour of its own but absorbs the flavour of sauces in which it is cooked or marinated.
