Last Saturday, I was in a mood to cook. My eldest suggested immediately that we should just fry hotdog or eggs or lunch. But I insisted that I will cook.

I got one in particular in mind. I read it in an issue of a cooking magazine. It’s the Creamed Orange Chicken. My 2 boys was excited (they always like my cooking especially with chicken involve).

What you need:

1 kl. Chicken breast
2 pc. fresh Oranges
3 tbsp. Butter
1 pc. onion, sliced
1 can button mushroom, sliced
2 tbsp. flour water
¼ tsp. oregano
¼ tsp. thyme
¼ tsp. marjoram
1 pc. baby leaf
1 cup all-purpose cream
1 cup carrot, cubed
1 cup green peas
¼ cup white wine

How to make it:

Marinate chicken breast in juice of 1 orange, salt and pepper. Heat butter then pan fry until light golden brown. Set aside.

Sauté onions and mushrooms on same pan. Add flour, water or stock, juice of 1 orange, oregano, thyme, marjoram and baby leaf.

Add cream, carrots and green peas. Season with white wine, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for about 10 – 15 minutes to cook.

Never seen the kids so excited to eat lunch. Hope you enjoy it.

hello dante! another reeipe that i’ll surely try. will it be ok if i don’t add the white wine? what will be an alternative? thanks!

Hi there. Its OK to take the white wine out. The wine is the contrast for the sweet taste of the orange. You can use lime juice as replacement or mild vinegar.

    Thanks for reading.
